One of the hardest task to conquer in life is work. Really, majority if not all our lives we work. Before we are even technically adults we have the opportunity of getting our first job at the mere age of 14, and sometimes even younger. When we are young the thought of a job creates excitement and anticipation, because we think of it as our first sign of independence. As young teenagers we think about all the fun things we get to do with our paychecks like, buy outfits, go to the movies, and really just have money to call our own.
This perception continues well into high school, until we hit graduation, move out and realize that we actually have to be responsible and pay bills with our money. That reality slowly but surely sucks the fun out of a job. On top of responsibilities taking all if not most of our money, what do we do when we are working a job that has nothing to do with the dream we have or the degree we possess out of college?
Well, some people give up, they settle and become comfortable with where they are. Some people grow resentful, unhappy, and complain about where they are. Some people see it as forever and being no other option. There are only a few that see a job as a temporary place to make ends meet why they apply everything they have and our to their dreams on their side. For some people their dreams may be working a great career for a great company, for some it maybe working for themselves. However whatever the dream you have can be the influencer on how you see your current state of living.
These few people accept and acknowledge their current state in the moment they are in but realize that this current state wont last forever. It wont last forever because they are working each day on their true passions. They are forming perceptions based off of hope and faith, not doubt and fear. They form a mindset of knowing that their current state doesn’t determine their future.
Dreamers, some may say they are disconnected from reality, but I say they are in tuned with a realization of a reality that they know they have the power to manifest.
Although they have may not like the job their working, whether it be a cashier, food worker, or etc, they wake up every morning and go to work to do a good job. They do a good job because in the back of their minds they know that this is not their forever place. They look for lessons, they seek to learn, they give of themselves to serve others, build relationships and open doors.
The will power to continue to work a job that may or may not pay good, has employees that may or may not get on your nerves, rules, hours that you don’t like, and etc. I believe the will power to get up and do this everyday is the simple fact that they know that if they continue to push ahead and work hard, have faith, their dreams will surely come to pass.
With the fact of never knowing who or what may lead you to the next step, gives the motivated person; open thoughts, open actions, open opportunities, and open chances to grow. Through these steps and many more they are slowly being directed towards their ultimate dream.
The key to making it through working a job while working for your dreams is to realize the following:
- Realize that accomplishing dreams want come easy that you will have to do things you don’t like.
- Realize that everything isn’t always going to be about what you want, how you want it.
- Realize that it wont come easy and it will require you getting your hands dirty
- Realize that where you start isn’t going to be how you end
- Realize that many successful people such as Brad Pitt had to start at a job that they didn’t want to do
- Realize that everything will take time , especially if you are chasing after a big dream. It will not come over night.
Even though it maybe hard to work somewhere you really don’t want to let it be the motivation each day for you to work towards doing what it is you really want to.
New International Version
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters
God will honor your steps, if your willing to seek his understanding, have faith and work hard.
